8151 STUDENTS ENROLLED
A urinalysis is a test that is routinely performed on a ward, and can provide information on the:
- condition and function of the urinary tract
- presence of pathogenic organisms
- presence of nutrient material
- presence of systemic disease unrelated to the urinary system
- acid–base (acid–alkaline) balance of the body.
A urinalysis must be performed on a freshly voided specimen of urine.
