Performing Hand Hygiene – Alcohol-Based Hand Rub (ABHR)
7551 STUDENTS ENROLLED
Healthcare associated infections (HCAI) are a major concern in the quality and safety of healthcare provision in all healthcare settings. Hand hygiene is the single most effective intervention for reducing the risk of HCAI.
Hand hygiene is performed using either an alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR), antimicrobial skin cleaner or soap and water, depending on the indication. When hands are not visibly soiled, ABHR is recommended.
