NurseSim – call for industry study participants.
ETRAIN Interactive, Australian Catholic University and the Department of Industry are calling on industry participants to be involved in a study of 3D training simulations in healthcare.
What is it?
The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of NurseSim, a 3D simulation package delivering training in known skills gap areas within healthcare.
The study will trial training packages in the following areas:
- Observations and Deteriorating Patient Assessment
Including neurological, neurovascular and deteriorating patient assessment
- Wound Management
Including wound assessment and treatment
- Intravenous Therapy
Including multi-brand IV pump training
- Administration of Medications
Including calculations training
What will industry participants be required to do?
Industry participants will be provided free access to the training modules listed, for the duration of the trial and for 6 months post-trial. Participants will also be provided free access to the NurseSim authorware, to modify and create training scenarios customised to their specific needs.
At the conclusion of the trial, participants will be asked to complete an online questionnaire.
Will I be able to find out the results of the project?
Participants wishing to learn about the results of the study will be able to access this via the project website in the latter part of 2018.
